Include the following information in the email:

• the type of project
• the subject or topic
• the document length by word count
• a timeline or deadline
• the type of edit you are looking for

It’s also helpful to include:

• the name of your preferred style manual
• a house style guide
• the name of your publisher or publication
• any notes provided by early readers or other editors

The Quote

Quotes are calculated by hour, but an estimate for the project will be provided with the terms and scope of the editorial work. (Note. This estimate may change over the scope of the edit, but any changes will be communicated and agreed upon before the work continues. We’ll always move forward together.)
